AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet today announced it has again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for both hip and knee replacement. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet underwent a rigorous onsite recertification review in May. Established in 2002 and awarded for two-year periods, The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification evaluates clinical programs across the continuum of care and addresses three core areas:
- Compliance with consensus-based national standards
- Effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care
- An organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities
“We’re pleased to have been recertified by The Joint Commission for these important services,” said Robert Erickson, president and CEO of AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center. “Our physicians, nurses and staff work hard every day to continually maintain the highest safety and quality standards for our patients.”
AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center has thoroughly demonstrated a high level of care for patients in need of hip and knee replacement, said Patrick Phelan, executive director, Hospital Business Development, The Joint Commission.
