Woodridge 68 student registration
Woodridge School District 68 is conducting walk-in registration for new and returning students for the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, July 25 from 1 to 8 p.m. All students are to register at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School, 7200 Janes Avenue.
Parents can still register their student online. New and returning families can get detailed registration information on the district website, including information on the following: important dates, returning students, new students, kindergarten, preschool, residency information, registration fees, and health requirements.
Janeswood Road project begins this week
The Janeswood reconstruction project begins this week. This project involves the reconstruction of Janeswood Avenue from Janes Avenue on the east to Woodridge Drive on the west. The scope of work includes full roadway reconstruction of the road base and asphalt. Starting in August, roadway detours will be required during periods of construction. The need for detours will be communicated in advance to provide drivers with ample notice.
Woodridge Police open house on August 1
The Woodridge Police Department is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, August 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. at 1 Plaza Drive. The Open House is an opportunity for the Woodridge Police Department to say thank you to residents for having an active partnership to improve our community. The Open House features a tour of the station, squad car demonstrations and photos, CSI-style fingerprinting simulations, snacks, and more.
Mini Triathlon needs volunteers
The Rotary Club of Woodridge relies on volunteers to successfully host Chicagoland’s largest Mini Triathlon on Sunday, August 13. Volunteers are needed on the course on race day (Sunday), on Friday evening and Saturday at the Community Center for participant check-in, and on Saturday afternoon for course set-up. A required meeting for volunteers is Thursday, August 10 at 6 p.m. at the Woodridge Park District, 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge. All volunteers must fill out a volunteer application at woodridgerotary.org.
Woodridge Rotary Mini Triathlon is Sunday, August 13
The 18th Annual Mini Triathlon, hosted by the Woodridge Rotary Club, is scheduled for Sunday, August 13, starting at 7 a.m. for the Main Event and 10:30 a.m. for the KiDs event. The race takes place at Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 S. Janes Avenue, in Woodridge. This event is geared towards athletes of all abilities, age, shapes and sizes. Information on race distances, cost, or how to register as an athlete or volunteer can be found at woodridgerotary.org.

Bridgeview Bank Shredding Event July 29th: Bridgeview Bank, l at 3540 Hobson Rd., is hosting a free document shredding event on Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. All items shredded by an on-site mobile truck and safely disposed of. Please note: document shredding only. Light refreshments will be served.
