Glenview Cycle Presents: Bike Safety and Fix-Its. 4 to 4:45 at Morton Grove Public Library, 6140 Lincoln Ave. Join Alan Rubin of Glenview Cycle inside the library to learn all about your bike, from tires to brakes, and how to be a better, safer rider. Later, Alan, and his team will take it outside the library for a bike riders clinic. So ride your bike and park it at the Library. Survivors Speak: Matus Stolov. 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at at Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, 9603 Woods Drive, Skokie. Matus was born in Minsk, Belarus, in 1928, the son of Polish Jewish parents who had fled to Russia after the 1917 revolution to build the socialist utopia. When Germany invaded in June 1941, Matus, his mother, and his older brother tried to escape eastward. They ran for a train and the two sons were able to jump aboard; when the mother couldn’t make it, Matus jumped down and stayed with her. Meet Matus to hear his unbelievable story.
