Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway are once again inviting families out to the facility to participate in on-track activity with Track Laps and a Car Wash.
On Friday, August 5, contributors can take their own vehicles onto The Magnificent Mile And A Half for two parade laps around the 1.5-mile oval that the stars of NASCAR will race on during the Sprint Cup Series weekend September 15-18 at Chicagoland Speedway. This opportunity is available for only $10! For safety reasons, the track laps are limited to passenger vehicles only, attendees on motorcycles or in oversized vehicles will not be able to participate in track laps.
This day is the make-up event for the Go Green For Sprint presented by JULIE, Inc. canceled earlier this year.
Simply by participating in the event, attendees will help support Will County community organizations. All proceeds collected from this event will benefit Racing Advocates for Community Enrichment (R.A.C.E.), Chicagoland Speedway’s 501c3 charitable entity. Funds accumulated throughout the year allowed the organization to donate $40,000 in grants to worthwhile charitable organizations in the local community in 2015. With participation, attendees will help R.A.C.E. surpass that mark this year. The 2016 Grant Application process is now open and accepting submissions here.
The event will take place from 3:00 – 7:30 p.m. with guests entering the facility through Gate 4 off Laraway Road and continuing to follow all appropriate signage leading to the infield. A $10 donation per vehicle will be required upon entry to benefit R.A.C.E. For an additional $10, participants can get their cars washed before heading across the street.
On the same evening, Route 66 Raceway will feature a Race Your Ride event, where local competitors have the opportunity to enter the World’s Premier Drag Racing Facility to put their vehicles to the ultimate test. This means that fans can experience both racing surfaces in the same evening!
In addition to the on-track opportunities, Men in Black DJ Entertainment will supply tunes throughout the evening.
Outside of this event, fans can support the local community through their favorite racing venue with the click of a button by visiting www.chicagolandspeedway.com/Track-Info/RACE.aspx. Now you too can support invaluable organizations such as 100 Club of Chicago, Armed Forces Foundation, Bolingbrook Explorers, G.W. Buck Boys and Girls Club, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission and many, many more.
