Bolingbrook, Romeoville Community Calendar

JUNE 25

Busy Beavers Craft Club. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Isle a la Cache Museum, 501 E. Romeo Road. Learn to make a craft you can take home. The free program is for ages 15 and younger. Registration is not required.

 

Olympic Day. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive. Begin your own personal Olympic journey at the Annerino Community Center for the newest and greatest free family event. Kids will have an opportunity to complete various Olympic events throughout the day and upon completion, will get an award and Olympic Certificate.

 

JUNE 27

Scrabble Club. 6 to 8 p.m. at White Oak Library Romeoville Branch, 201 W. Normantown Road, Romeoville. The library will provide refreshments and the Scrabble boards, or feel free to bring your own. JUNE 29

Summer Concert Series. 7:30-9 p.m. at the village of Bolingbrook’s Performing Arts Center, located at 375 W. Briarcliff Road. Entertainment: Dick Diamond and the Dusters. (Dance favorites from the last decade.) For more information, visit www.bolingbrookparks.org.

 

Discovery Isle. 1-3 p.m. at the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Isle a la Cache Museum, 501 E. Romeo Road. Join in different activities or demonstrations that focus on natural or cultural history. Programs will be held indoors or outside depending on the weather. Drop in anytime between 1-3 p.m. Registration is not required for this free, all-ages program.

 

JUNE 30

Promenade Farmers Market. 4-9 p.m. on Sandburg Way at the Promenade Bolingbrook, 631 E. Boughton Road. More than 40 vendors gather to sell fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, wines, tea, coffee, baked goods, gourmet olive oils and vinegars, salsas, jams, and even all-natural pet treats. JJC Summer Farmers Market. 2-6 p.m. at the Joliet Junior College Greenhouse Facility, 1215 Houbolt Road, Joliet. Farmers Market season is here, and Joliet Junior College is pleased to bring its annual farmers market for a fourth year.

 

SAT Practice Test . 1:30 p.m. at Fountaindale Library, 300 W. Briarcliff. In partnership with C2 Education, prepare for the new SAT by taking a free practice test. Upon completion, receive a free detailed score analysis and conference with the program director at the C2 Education center.

 

JULY 3

Independence Day Celebration. 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Deer Crossing Park, 1050 W. Romeo Road. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Featured bands: Fletcher Rockwell from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wedding Banned from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
