MAY 14

Pet Expo 2016. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Clow-Stephens Dog Park, 16650 S. Lily Cache Road, Plainfield. This event sponsored by Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and Representative Natalie Manley. Local animal businesses will be on hand to showcase their services. Information will also be distributed to attendees regarding recent animal legislation. Anyone going to the pet expo is encouraged to bring their pets. Nail Trimming for pets will be available. Photos can also be taken at the event of people with their animals.

 

Will/Grundy Genealogical Society meeting. 10 a.m. at Coal City Public Library, 85 N. Garfield St., Coal City. This month’s program will be presented by Patricia Reaves, a teacher of German at Riverside-Brookfield High School. She was born in Germany and is fluent in the language and the history of the country. She will advise members and guests on research procedures in both this country and abroad. There will be handouts and a display of books and research aids. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.

 

SMI Spartan 2K/5K. At St. Mary Immaculate Parish School, 15629 Route 59, Plainfield. All are welcome from the school, parish and community to join in the fun and help support the students at St. Mary Immaculate Parish School. MAY 18

Fiesta Fun Night. 6:15 p.m. at HarborChase of Plainfield, 12446 Van Dyke Road, Plainfield. HarborChase of Plainfield, a local assisted living and memory care community, is hosting Fiesta Fun Night, a Latin-themed celebration. The event is free and open to the public and will include live music, margaritas, fajitas and other Latin-inspired food. HarborChase of Plainfield is managed by Harbor Retirement Associates. MAY 23

TRIAD Program: Ice cream social for senior citizens. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Plainfield Police Department, 14300 S. Coil Plus Drive. This program is free and open to the public.
