Joliet resident Karen Dale scratched an Illinois Lottery 100X The Cash ticket and instantly became a millionaire.
“I can’t believe I won $4 million,” Dale said when she presented her top prize-winning ticket at the Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines.
Dale has lived in Joliet for 25 years. She said her plans for the money include paying bills, investing, and, possibly, treating herself to a new car.
The winning ticket was purchased at Lambert’s PS Fuels, 928 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet. Dale was in her car in the parking lot, when she scratched the ticket and discovered her win. The retailer will receive $40,000, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
100X The Cash is a $20 instant ticket that offers more than $124 million in prizes, including eight top prizes of $4 million and 18 prizes of $100,000. Four of the $4 million prizes and nine of the $100,000 prizes have not yet been claimed. For more information, visit illinoislottery.com.
