The sixth annual Abilities Expo, titled “No One Can Stop Me,” will be held April 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 Route 59, in Plainfield.
The event is hosted by St. Mary’s and the Plainfield Township Disabilities Committee. Admission to the event is free, and the first 125 attendees will receive a free gift – one per family.
Marie Adams, member of the Plainfield Township Disabilities Committee, said the expo provides a huge network of resources, services and products that support individuals with a disability.
“Every year we have grown this event with more exhibitors and visitors,” Adams said.
There will be more than 60 exhibitors, including Barking Angels Service Dog Foundation, Cigna, Guiding Light Academy, Pace Suburban Boss and Hope Lutheran Church, according to the event organizers.
In addition to the exhibitors, there will also be song and dance demos, concessions, sensory story time, service dog demos and a guest speaker at 11:30 a.m.
“The Expo allows for exhibitors to network with each other and form alliances,” Adams added.
MobilityWorks, Behavioral Perspective Inc., Cigna, Hillmann Pediatric Therapy, Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, and Home for Life Advantage sponsor the event.
