Both Plainfield North and East high schools will hold community running and walking events in April to benefit their students and area charities.
First, PNHS will hold its fifth annual “Fast Cat 5K/10K and 1-mile Kids Run” Saturday, April 2, 2016 at PNHS, 12005 S. 248th St., Plainfield.
Proceeds will benefit the PNHS Track Team. The team will also make a donation to the children of former PNHS teacher Sue Triplett, who died in October 2015.
The Kids Run starts at 8 a.m. The 5K/10K starts at 8:30 a.m. All participants will be eligible for free door prizes, and will get a pasta meal after the race.
Online registration will be accepted through March 23 at www.runfastcat.com After that date, registration will be at Roadrunner Sports, 2555 W. 75th Street, Naperville. Runners will also be able to register the morning of the race at PNHS. Packets can be picked up early at Roadrunner Sports, as well March 31 and April 1 between 4-7 p.m. and at PNHS the morning of the race at 6:30 am. Then, PEHS will host its fourth annual “Eastside Shuffle” 5K walk and run, 1-mile “Super Sprint” and 400 meter Kids Dash on April 24 at PEHS, 12001 S. Naperville Road, Plainfield. All events will start at 9 a.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit the PEHS Band Boosters organization. St. Mary Immaculate opens school registration
St. Mary Immaculate Parish Religious Education for grades kindergarten through eighth grade is accepting registrations for the 2016-17 school year.
