The city of Park Ridge has just sold off unused property for approximately $1.7 million. It’s now time to reinvest some of those funds toward addressing critical risk conditions within the current Park Ridge Police Department facility, as the city council back in 2012 stated the city would do.
As the architect that developed in 2011 on a volunteered basis a multi-phase program to address the facility risks and successfully improve on a number of conditions, I urge the Park Ridge City Council to invest in our police department, and create the safe and productive workspace deserved by those who serve as our public service to protect our city. In 2013, we successfully completed the first part of the overall plan and it is now time to continue with the remaining portions.
The funds required are outlined below:
Fiscal 2016-17: Estimated $125,000 for architecture and engineering services
Fiscal 2017-18: Estimated $500,000 for new secure “Sally Port”, ADA accessible and officer locker/restroom and ventilation improvements
Fiscal 2018-19: Estimated $600,000 to complete the program’s operations, space utilization and ventilation improvements
