Plainfield residential structure fire in the 13000 block of Denise Street

There were no injuries during a residential structure fire in the 13000 block of Denise Street in
unincorporated Plainfield. The Plainfield Fire Protection District was dispatched to the fire on Wednesday,
June 12th. At approximately 3:30 pm the homeowners arrived home to find black smoke inside their
attached garage with their home smoke alarms going off and immediately called 9-1-1. The fire started in
the backyard of the home on the deck and extended inside the home near the kitchen. Fire and smoke
damage has made the home uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Plainfield
Fire Protection District was assisted by the Bolingbrook and Romeoville Fire Departments and Lockport and
Troy Fire Protection Districts. The Plainfield Fire Protection District urges everyone to please keep decks
