Illinois St. Enjoy your day off school by smashing, crashing and bashing your way to first place in tournaments hosted on the Wii U for Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8. Bring your Nintendo 3DS and multi-player games for additional fun playing against other attendees. Personal game controllers not allowed. Prizes awarded to winners.
2016 Friday Fish Fry. 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Parish School, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield. The Knights of Columbus Good Shepherd Council #5573 and Ladies Auxiliary will hold its 36th Annual Lenten Friday Fish Fry. Phone orders for take-out accepted from 4 to 7 p.m. at 815-436-2651, ext. 841. Please pick up by 7:30 p.m. Each week during the fish fry, a 50/50 raffle will be conducted with the cash prize awarded near the conclusion of the evening. The Ladies Auxiliary will be selling gift basket raffle tickets as well. The Knights request that all who attend please bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Plainfield Food Pantry.

Pony Kissing Booth. 2 to 3 p.m. at Normantown Equestrian Center, 12151 S. Normantown Road. Snap a one of a kind Valentine’s Day picture at our pony kissing booth! Stop by the clubroom before or after your special smooch to make a valentine for your favorite horse. Refreshments will be provided as well. Happy Valentine’s Day! Ages 3 and up. Daddy Daughter Dance. 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Heritage Grove Middle School, 12425 Van Dyke Road, Plainfield. Treat your daughter or favorite little girl to a special night out that she will never forget! Join for dancing, crafts, refreshments, snacks and fun! All girls will receive a photo with their special date. Guests must arrive by 7 p.m. to have their photo taken. Register by Feb. 15.

Winter Waterfowl at Lake Renwick. 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lake Renwick Rookery Visitor Center, 23144 W. Renwick Road. Winter time is the best time to observe diving ducks and other winter waterfowl. Come to Lake Renwick in hopes of catching a glimpse. Winter may be the only time of year to see these birds because once the weather gets warm, they head back north. Please bring binoculars. No strollers or dogs.
Library Expansion Day of Action. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gourmet Junction, 24030 Lockport St., Plainfield. The event is going to kick off the voter outreach ballot initiative!
