Park Ridge Police arrested Tony Miller, 56, of Mount Prospect on June 11 outside of his home. Miller was arrested following investigative efforts that identified him as the offender in a ruse burglary incident that occurred on May 30 in the 200 S. block of Rose Avenue in Park Ridge.
The ruse entry burglary occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m when Miller and an unidentified accomplice approached the 85-year-old female victim, and her 90-year old husband. Miller and his accomplice, who were in a white full size pick-up work truck when they arrived at the residence, offered to do repairs to the victim’s home and driveway. While the victim’s husband was speaking to Miller’s accomplice outside, the 85-year-old victim entered the residence and went to the bedroom. Miller followed the victim to the bedroom, where he grabbed the victim by the wrists and pushing her to the floor. Miller went past the victim and removed jewelry with an approximate value of $900. Miller and his accomplice left the area in the white pick-up work truck immediately following the incident.
Miller is charged with Aggravated Battery to an Elderly Person, Residential Burglary and Home Invasion following the investigation and positive identification by the victim.
