To prepare for a summer of fun, Bolingbrook residents can now purchase fishing permits, park permits, register for day camp and Pelican Passes.
Pelican Passes are available at a discounted rate of $55 per person for residents, through April 30, offering a $25 savings. That means, for a family of four, you can save up to $100. These passes get your unlimited visits to Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park from May 26-September 3. The rate increases to $80 per person for residents on May 1.
Bolingbrook Park District offers a number of different camps for all ages, interests and time commitments. Camp Alotta Fun for campers age 6-14 from 9:00 am-4:00 pm and begins the week of June 4-8 and runs through the week of August 6-10. Sunrise and Sunset extended camps are offered from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. before and after camp.
Hidden Oaks Nature Center offers a summer nature camp from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for those that want to get more in-depth with nature. Pelican Harbor also offers a Harbor Heroes camp that encourages those that are interested in the behind the scenes training of a lifeguard or instructor, all with the fun of a summer camp.

Permits are needed for all adults age 16 and older to fish at Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm. Permits are just $30 for residents and are valid from April 1 to March 31. One-day permits are just $8 for residents. Revenue generated from permit fees goes directly to stocking a variety of fish into the lakes. There are six fishing derbies set for 2018, with the first being a Trout Derby on April 21 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
