A Downers Grove man was arrested Feb. 2 for allegedly being in possession of thousands of images containing child pornography.
Anthony Damaska, 28, of the 600 block of Sherman St., was charged with two counts of dissemination of child pornography (Class X felony) and two counts of possession of child pornography (Class 2 felony), according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office. Bond was set at $100,000 for Damaska, who is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 29.
“Every image and every video allegedly possessed by Mr. Damaska represents yet another innocent victim of child pornography,” State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release.
As part of an ongoing investigation into the possession and dissemination of child pornography, authorities with the Naperville Police Department located an IP address originating from the Downers Grove area in August 2015 that allegedly contained a high amount of possible child pornography downloads. The investigation led detectives to Damaska and a search warrant was executed at his Downers Grove home, where he was taken into custody.
The state’s attorney said conditions for Damaska should he be able to post bond include no contact with children under 18 years of age and no computer or Internet access.
