Winterfest. 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Annerino Community Center, 201 Recreation Drive, Bolingbrook. This FREE family event will will also have outdoor activities held at Central Park. Enjoy outdoor and indoor activities including Max, the Alaskan Malamute from Plummery Tails! Winter Woods Walk. 7-8 p.m. at the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Isle a la Cache Museum, 501 E. Romeo Road. Explore Isle a la Cache preserve after dark to see or hear wildlife along the Des Plaines River. Dress for the weather and be prepared to walk 1 mile. The free program is for ages 12 and older. Registration is required by Friday, Jan. 22; call 815-886-1467.
Preventing Child Sexual Abuse. 9 a.m. at Bolingbrook Community Center, 210 Canterbury Lane, Bolingbrook. 7 p.m. at Lukancic Middle School, 725 Normantown Road, Romeoville. For Elementary School Parents. Hear about the widespread but unspoken threat to children. Learn about Erin’s Law, how to recognize signs of abuse and what to do about it.
Helping Teens Build Healthy Relationships. 11 a.m. at Bolingbrook Community Center, 210 Canterbury Lane, Bolingbrook. 7 p.m. at Lukancic Middle School, 725 Normantown, Romeoville. For Middle and High School Parents. Determine components of healthy relationships, learn about dating violence and danger signs and hear about curriculum taught in health classes.
On-site Aryzta Job Fairs. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Aryzta, 300 Innovation Drive, Romeoville. Apply for full-time positions at the pizza manufacturing site by attending the job fair.

So You Have a Story to Tell…My Journey From Page to Publishing. 1 to 2:30 p.m. at White Oak Library Romeoville Branch, 201 W. Normantown Road, Romeoville. Are you longing to become a published writer? Successful author Johanna Shapard, writing as Annalisa Russo, shares her writing process and how to take a manuscript from inception to publication. Shapard is the author of the popular Cavelli Angel Saga. There will be a question and answer period, and giveaways for attendees.

FEBRUARY 1

“Have You Heard?  Hearing Health Workshop.” 2 to 3 p.m. at White Oak Library Romeoville Branch, 201 W. Normantown Road, Romeoville. In this workshop, presented by Connect Hearing, Inc. from Lisle, we’ll learn how we hear, what hearing loss is, and how hearing loss affects everyone. Come and discover skills for hearing in our noisy world.
