The record Powerball drawing has come and gone. And while none of the winning jackpot tickets were sold in the state of Illinois, a smaller prize was sold right here in Plainfield.
A $50,000 winning ticket sold at a Pantry Lane, 7142 Caton Farm Road, was one of the 45 total prizes of $50,000 or more won in Illinois during the Jan. 13 drawing. Two $1 million tickets, six $100,000 tickets and 37 $50,000 tickets were sold throughout the state.
Overall, more than 893,000 winning tickets with prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000 were sold in Illinois during the Jan. 13 Powerball drawing. The total jackpot was worth more than $1.5 billion, which lottery officials said is the largest lottery jackpot in world history.
Stores that sold a $100,000 prize will receive a $1,000 bonus, and stores that sold a $50,000 prize will receive a bonus of $500.
The winning numbers drawn were 4 – 8 – 19 – 27 – 34 and Powerball 10. Lottery officials said Illinois residents have one year from the drawing date to claim their Powerball prizes.
