Al Stonitsch was formerly the assistant village manager of Glen Ellyn.
On Thursday, July 20, the mayor and Village Board were slated to appoint Al Stonitsch as the next village administrator of the Village of Woodridge. Stonitsch comes to Woodridge from the Village of Glen Ellyn, where he has served as assistant village manager for more than four years.
Stonitsch has spent the last 17 years working in local government, including previously serving the Village of Glenview for nearly 13 years. Most recently, as the assistant village manager in Glen Ellyn, he was responsible for the Village’s facilities maintenance, human resources, information technology, communications and senior services divisions within the Village Manager’s Office. During Stonitsch’s tenure in Glen Ellyn, he also served as a key member of the village’s design/build team for the new Glen Ellyn Police station facility and Civic Center space needs analysis.

Stonitsch holds a Master’s Degree in Public Service Management from DePaul University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Marquette University. He is a member and participant in the International-Illinois City/County Management Association (ILCMA) and Illinois Association of Municipal management Assistants (IAMMA), and several other professional associations.
He will begin his new position on August 21.
