Maine East girls volleyball beat Niles West 20-25, 25-21, 25-19. Kim Sergey had three aces, three kills, and nine assists, Erika Christiansen tallied four blocks, 11 assists and three kills, Maria Skoufos tallied eight kills and Alyssa Gorak added four kills.
SOCCER
Bolingbrook topped Mt. Carmel in the Windy City Classic 1-0. Justin De Paula had the game-winning goal with Juan Guzman the assist on a corner kick. Diego Sanchez made three saves.
GOLF
Maine South fell to New Trier 158-180 in an 8-hole match.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Westmont girls team won their home opener defeating Timothy Christian 18-38.
Halle (20:43) and Peyton Nash (22:07) led the Sentinel attack with a 1-2 finish, while teammates Lisa Niemiec, Lily Arndt and Frankie Fabry finished 4-5-6.
“Its good to get the first one under the belt,” coach Steve Wolf said. “The girls ran really well with most of them bettering their times from last year at this time.”
In the boys race it was Timothy Christian topping the Sentinels 20-38. Matt Gedraitis and Sam Asa finished 4-5 for Westmont followed by Jasper Requiron in seventh and Kyle Casper in 10th.
