The Downers Grove Village Council appointed zoning board of appeals chairperson Marge Earl to fill a vacancy on the council.
Earl will serve the remainder of former commissioner David Olsen, who resigned from the council after accepting an appointment to serve as the 81st District State House Representative.
“I’m thrilled to announce the appointment of Marge Earl to the village council,” Mayor Martin Tully said. “She has been a stalwart board and commission member, which gives her great insights on the key issues facing our community.”
In addition to chairing the zoning board of appeals, Earl is on the comprehensive planning ad-hoc committee. She has been a ZBA member since 2007 and also served on the ad-hoc housing committee.
“I’m excited to continue serving the community in my new capacity as a village council member,” Earl said.
She will be officially sworn in at the council’s Sept. 6 meeting.
